The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution amending the county’s organizational chart and department responsibilities.
County staff described changes that realign certain duties: Summer Pell is listed as assistant county administrator; Michelle Metcalfe will serve as government coordination affairs officer overseeing grants, communications, the radio system and contract management; Kelly Graves will be responsible for physical operations including revenue collection, procurement, solid waste and acquisitions; human resources is currently held by Debbie DeBose, who is retiring, and Jennifer Hoffman will assume HR and risk management responsibilities starting Monday.
Staff said the resolution reflects a minor reorganization and corrects a line that previously listed “20 assistant county administrator.” Commissioners voted to approve the resolution by voice vote, 5-0.
Why it matters: The resolution reallocates responsibilities among senior staff and notes an imminent personnel change in human resources; the board recorded the updates as organizational housekeeping required when major adjustments are made to departments.
