Representative Lademan introduced House Resolution 1003 and the House adopted the resolution to honor Saint Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro for opening the state’s first Maternal Life360 home, which the sponsor said began in November 2024 in partnership with the Arkansas Department of Human Services.
The Maternal Life360 program “serves women with high risk pregnancies,” Representative Lademan said on the House floor. She described the home as providing home visit services during pregnancy and for up to two years postpartum and addressing related social needs such as food security and housing.
Lademan told members the public-health committee and the Legislature approved an Our Homes program in 2018 and that Saint Bernard's is the first medical facility in Arkansas to implement the model. She said hospital-level data indicate that “if their numbers alone were studied, they would rank sixteenth in the nation” on infant and maternal outcomes. Lademan also said Arkansas ranks poorly statewide on those measures, a point she raised during her explanation of the resolution.
The resolution recognizes the hospital’s work to reduce infant and maternal mortality and its coordination with DHS. The text adopted on the floor nominates Saint Bernard's for commendation for leadership in the program; no funding or policy change was made in the House action.
House Resolution 1003 was adopted by voice vote. The clerk announced “the ayes have it” and the resolution was entered as adopted.
