Catoosa County school board approves consent items, names Boynton playground and votes to relocate meetings

The Catoosa County Board of Education on Feb. 4 approved a slate of routine items, formally named the new playground at Boynton Elementary in honor of Frank Seibold and authorized the superintendent to explore moving future board meetings to the district’s College and Career Academy.

Board members voted unanimously on several consent items presented together, including human resources recommendations, minutes from January 2025, the district’s December financial reports, the East bus report, field trip requests, norms and protocols, and the recommended 2025–26 school calendar. The board also approved a separate resolution naming the Boynton playground the Frank Seibold Playground and passed a resolution delegating authority for future meetings to be negotiated at the College and Career Academy (referred to in meeting materials as the From Here to Career College and Career Academy). The board later voted to enter an executive session to discuss a personnel matter.
