Representative Heather Scott introduced RS 31869, the annual codifier or "Code of Fire" bill from the Legislative Services Office intended to correct drafting errors, numbering and typographical issues in the Idaho Code.
Scott told the committee she reviewed the sections changed and found no substantive policy changes — that the package is largely technical edits performed by the Legislative Services Office. She noted isolated drafting artifacts, such as extraneous draft markings and renumbered provisions, and pointed to a specific line where last year’s committee language appears in the current codification.
Representative Scogg moved to introduce RS 31869. The committee approved the motion by voice vote; the transcript does not provide a roll call tally. The sponsor said she would not belabor the edits because they are editorial in nature.
The RS was introduced for further committee consideration.
