The Tahoe Forest Health System Board of Directors voted 5-0 to approve an employment agreement for Anna Roth to become the district's chief executive officer, the board announced during the meeting.
The board approved a three-year contract with a start date of March 10. According to the board’s oral summary of the agreement, the base salary is $750,000 per year and the contract includes an incentive compensation plan that allows additional pay of up to 30 percent of base salary, with a target incentive of 20 percent.
Board members said the district conducted a six-month nationwide search with consulting support from WhitKiefer and compensation benchmarking from Alliant (formerly FutureSense). Alice and Mary led candidate discussions and the board said Roth’s background — including 15 years as CEO at Contra Costa Health System and a clinical background as a nurse — matched the district’s emphasis on community health and growth.
Ted Owens, speaking for district staff, summarized the contract terms to the board: “Yes. I mean, it's a it's a term of 3 years, with a start dated March 10. It's, it's our standard it's the standard CEO employment agreement. The salary would be $750,000 a year, including an incentive compensation plan, that would allow for additional compensation up to 30% max with a target of 20%, of the employee's base wage.”
The board conducted a roll-call vote for the employment agreement. The recorded votes were: Director Chamber — yes; Director Brown — yes; Director Wong — yes; Director Dardison Kavich — yes; Chair McGarry — yes. The motion passed 5-0.
Board members thanked staff and search consultants for the process and recognized interim leadership during the search. The board indicated staff would release the announcement to employees and the public on the stated timeline.
The new CEO’s start date and the approved contract terms were the formal outcome; the board did not take additional action at the meeting on related operational changes.
