Jared Wiley, director of the Arkansas Department of Transportation, introduced himself to the House Transportation Committee and said he looks forward to working with members during the session. “I've been with the agency almost 20 years now, and I've had the pleasure of working with many of you,” Wiley said.
Wiley introduced two DOT staff who will be available at the Capitol during the session: Gil Rogers and Hannah Wright. Wiley said Rogers and Wright will be stationed in Room 7 in the basement on the House side to serve as liaisons and help members who need DOT information or assistance. “If you have any questions or you need anything you can find me,” Rogers said, noting he can be reached by phone or text.
Wiley told the committee the department appreciated the chance to brief members and thanked the panel for hosting the session. Committee members thanked DOT for bringing staff to the Capitol and for a recent site visit that showcased DOT equipment and projects.
No formal proposals or votes were taken on DOT matters during the opening meeting; the presentation was introductory and focused on staff and contact coordination for the legislative session.
