Baldwin County recognizes volunteers and sponsors of 2024 Bicentennial Park drive‑thru light show

Baldwin County commissioners formally recognized volunteers, county employees and sponsors who supported the 2024 Christmas drive‑thru light show at Bicentennial Park, thanking dozens of organizations and individuals for their work on the event.

County staff member Felicia, who led the volunteer effort, said the event drew 5,914 out‑of‑town visitors and 9,267 local guests and credited volunteers and sponsors with the show’s success: “This year's drive thru show was an incredible success thanks to the hard work of so many dedicated volunteers, employees, and generous sponsors,” she told commissioners.

At the meeting, officials listed 14 organizations, 91 volunteers, 18 Baldwin County Commission employees and five Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office employees who assisted with the event. Sponsors acknowledged included Senator Chris Elliott, Representative Donna Givens, North Baldwin Utilities, Baldwin EMC, the City of Bay Minette and Councilman Mike Phillips of Bay Minette.

Commissioners and staff praised the scale of volunteer support and the effect on the North Baldwin community, and several commissioners thanked Felicia and other staff for coordinating the effort. Commissioners described the event as a community-building effort that relied heavily on volunteer labor to reduce costs and expand capacity for future events.

Organizers said they plan to build on the success for the 2025 edition.
