The Campton Hills public works subcommittee reviewed five responses to an engineer request for qualifications and interviewed two finalists. The subcommittee and interviewers recommended HR Green as the village's engineering consultant and the board reached consensus to move the selection to an action item at the next meeting.
Kim, speaking for the public works committee, said the committee favored HR Green because the firm is familiar with the village’s history and the current road projects and had helped the village successfully obtain grants. Trustees and staff noted Engineering Resource Associates also performed well in interviews but that HR Green’s back-office support and prior experience with local grants and projects made them the preferred candidate.
Staff and trustees discussed consultant multipliers and cost structures; a county- or state-approved multiplier for consultant overhead was noted as industry standard. The board agreed to advance HR Green as the recommended firm and to bring a formal action (selection/contract) to the next meeting for a recorded vote.
Ending: With a consensus to proceed, staff will prepare contract/engagement materials and present the HR Green selection as an action item at the next board meeting.
