Board approves electrical work for Veterans Alley art installation; Houston Electric low bidder

The Franklin City Board of Works on Feb. 5 approved a $19,148 electrical installation quote from Houston Electric to provide lighting for the Veterans Alley art project.
Community Development Specialist Anna Monson told the board this is the second phase of the Veterans Alley project, which will install art pieces in the alley adjacent to the Elks Club. "They are currently working on constructing the art pieces, should anticipating they should be completed, early to mid March, and then ready, ready to, assemble and put in place," Monson said. The art fabrication contract was previously awarded to Expo Arts.
Monson said she solicited three electrical quotes and received two responses: Houston Electric at $19,148 and Front Line Electrical Services at $23,625. "After staff review, we found that the lowest responsive and responsible bidder was Houston Electric," she said. A representative from Houston Electric, Joe Gross, attended the meeting.
A motion to approve the Houston Electric quote passed by voice vote.
