The approval follows a staff presentation and discussion about existing parking shortfalls for the entire shopping complex, security and overnight storage, and placement and visual impacts of display items. Commissioners also debated a separate request from the applicant to place a single, roughly 12-foot-tall red chair in the front parking area; the commission withdrew an initial motion to deny that chair and instead voted to table the chair request to the next scheduled Planning Commission meeting so the public can be re-notified and provide comment.
