Board tables Active Adult Center Change Order No. 10 until Feb. 19

The Franklin City Board of Works voted to table Change Order No. 10 for the Active Adult Center project until the board's next meeting on Feb. 19 to allow staff to gather additional information from the contractor and architect.
Assistant City Engineer Matt McElroy told the board that the architect had submitted information about which costs should have been charged back to the contractor and that staff was waiting for the contractor's response. "He provided some information of what he thinks the, some of those costs should have been in the change order, back to the contractor. And so we're waiting on a response back from the contractor now," McElroy said.
Mayor (unnamed) moved to table the item until Feb. 19; a second was recorded and the motion passed by voice vote.
Why it matters: tabling preserves the board's ability to act with clearer documentation about disputed costs and avoids approving a change order while questions remain about contractor responsibility. Staff said no additional action was required before the Feb. 19 meeting besides collecting contractor responses and architect detail.
The board took the vote during the new business portion of the meeting and will revisit the change order at its Feb. 19 session.
