Franklin Merit Commission elects 2025 officers and approves three sets of minutes

The Franklin Merit Commission elected Joey Hollis president, Doc Schafer vice president and Lehi Tabling secretary for 2025 during a Feb. 4 meeting at Franklin City Hall. The commission also approved minutes from Nov. 12, 2024; Jan. 7, 2025; and Jan. 17, 2025 and then adjourned.
The commission opened nominations for officers and conducted voice votes. John Schaffer, who chaired the opening of the meeting as president pro tem, nominated Joey Hollis for president; a second was called and the commission voiced unanimous approval. A similar voice vote approved a motion to elect Doc Schafer as vice president and to retain Lehi Tabling as secretary. Commissioners then moved and approved three separate motions to accept the minutes for Nov. 12, Jan. 7 and Jan. 17.
All votes on officer elections and minutes were taken by voice; no roll-call tallies were recorded in the meeting transcript. After business concluded, a member moved to adjourn; the motion was seconded and the commission adjourned by voice vote.
The meeting record notes signatures will be collected for the approved minutes from the incoming president and the secretary.
