The presenter said the amphitheater's 2023 numbers were inflated by a headline act (Girl Named Tom) and that year-to-year comparisons should note that effect.
The director also described advisory groups that guide park planning, including a park board and a tree commission that advise on urban forestry and planting strategy. Staff emphasized partnerships across departments that support tree planting and removal during public works projects.
The department reported $146,984 in park donations in 2024 (including funds for Lincoln Park restrooms) and $75,310 in amphitheater donations; the presenter said amphitheater donations funded lights, sound and performer lodging and covered the venue's 2024 expenses.
Council members asked few questions during the presentation. The director said the department will continue to monitor five- and 10-year planning priorities and thanked staff and community donors for supporting programming and facilities.
