Superintendent Abdulhad reported to the Oak Park School District Board of Education on Jan. 27 that the district accepted 53 new students for the second semester after receiving more than 100 applications. He described that as room for growth and said the district was encouraged by the enrollment trend.
Abdulhad also reported on the district’s “Keeper of the Promise” event, thanking board leaders and noting participation by a youth choir, students and representatives from finance and local government; he said Principal Haley was recognized as a Keeper of the Promise recipient for a “life of dedication.” The superintendent noted the high school band’s recent progress and that the band director will speak at the Oakland County School Boards Association (OCSBA) event.
Abdulhad reminded the board about a board dinner and upcoming goal-setting session with a MASB consultant and said several trustees had signed up for the dinner. No formal actions were taken on these informational items.
