The Verona Planning Department on Feb. 3 unveiled a comprehensive plan project website designed to solicit public input through a short survey, an interactive map and a "Share Your Ideas" page, staff told the Planning Commission.
Mr. Severson, speaking for planning staff, said the home page highlights the planning process, upcoming engagement opportunities and a quick survey intended to help staff frame future meetings and more detailed outreach. The site’s interactive map lets residents mark community assets they want to keep, opportunities for improvements, and barriers such as wetlands or road constraints.
Severson said meeting summaries and presentations will be posted as the plan progresses so residents who cannot attend can review materials and provide feedback. The site also includes a sign-up link for an email distribution list to receive notices about events, draft documents and surveys. Staff reported no development-project updates at this meeting.
The planning commission had no questions beyond technical clarifications, and staff invited the public to use the new site to help set priorities for the comprehensive plan.
Ending Staff said the site will be built out over time with dates for upcoming events and additional engagement tools; residents who want to follow the process can subscribe to the planning department’s email list.
