On a separate procurement item, the commission awarded the CJC improvements bid to Quality Fields & Design for the amount announced in the meeting and directed staff to prepare the contract; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote. Staff said the bidder used local subcontractors and can meet the timeline that requires the funds be spent before June 30.
The commission also adopted an updated Beaver County fee schedule after staff compiled departmental requests. Changes noted in the meeting included a new $5 apostille-related fee, adjusted GIS/hourly charges, an updated fairgrounds deposit ($250), new entries for grouped campsite listings and modest increases for sheriff copy fees and media formats; redaction work was described as billed at $30 per hour as a starting point. Commissioners asked staff to post policy and application requirements for large events so applicants understand both county facility charges and separately billed services such as EMS or sheriff staffing.
Other votes included approval of two service-district board appointments and authorization to renew a LexisNexis subscription quoted at $2.97 per month. Where roll-call tallies were not read into the record, the clerk recorded voice approval; no recorded roll-call opposition was announced during the meeting.
The meeting also included introductions from federal staffers representing Sen. John Curtis and Sen. Mike Lee's office and several routine staff updates that did not require action.
The commission did not record any failed motions on these agenda items; actions were processed as routine business and will be reflected in the minutes and corresponding contract files.
