Council names Chris Hale as ADA coordinator by resolution

The Madison Common Council approved Resolution No. 2025-1C Tuesday to designate an individual responsible for coordinating the city’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) efforts and investigating complaints under Title II.
City staff explained the designation is required by INDOT as part of the ADA transition plan update. The staff presenter said the resolution names Chris Hale as the city’s ADA coordinator going forward; previously the presenter had served in the role. The designated person must be a named individual for the public notice associated with complaints and the transition plan.
Council conducted a roll-call vote with each member indicating “yes” and the mayor announced the resolution passed.
Staff said the naming is an administrative update to reflect a staffing change in responsibilities and will accompany the ADA transition plan submission to INDOT.
