Board approves multiple routine items; student handbook vote delayed to August

The Worthington Public School District Board of Education approved a slate of routine agenda items during its meeting, including two tax-abatement resolutions, a 10-year facilities maintenance plan, organizational charts, policy readings and personnel and vacation-schedule adjustments. The board also delayed action on student handbook changes until its August meeting and agreed to seek local-media input before finalizing new media-procedures guidance.

Tax-abatement resolutions: The board approved Tax Abatement Resolution No. 1 and Resolution No. 2 during roll-call votes. For Resolution No. 1 the roll call recorded “Mr. Lorenz — Aye; Mr. Bohm — Aye; Mr. Schneier — Aye; Mr. Leggone — Aye,” and the chair declared the resolution passed. Resolution No. 2 likewise passed after roll-call votes recorded affirmative responses and a board statement of passage.

Facilities and organizational items: The board approved the district’s long-term facilities maintenance plan (a required 10-year submission) and approved updated organizational charts for the coming year after review by the operations committee.
