At the Feb. 4 meeting the Winter Haven City Planning Commission conducted its annual election for chair and vice chair and retained the incumbents.
Staff reminded commissioners that the chair must have served at least one year to be eligible; as a result, Kevin Tyson, Bob Lampert, and Lorena Cordero were not eligible to serve as chair this year. A commissioner nominated Colin to continue as chair; another commissioner seconded the nomination. The commission approved the chair nomination by voice vote. The commission then nominated Wendy to remain vice chair; the nomination was seconded and approved by voice vote. Meeting remarks indicated the result was “status quo.”
The commission’s rules that the chair must have one year of service were stated on the record prior to nominations. No formal ballot or roll-call vote was recorded in the transcript; actions were completed by voice vote.
