Weber County commissioners approve $736,141.93 in purchase orders, $1.91 million in warrants

Commissioners Sharon Bolos, Jim Harvey and Gage Furrer voted to approve consent items at the Weber County Commission meeting on Feb. 4, which included $736,141.93 in purchase orders and $1,905,970.48 in warrants.
The approvals fund routine county operations and capital purchases. County staff member Ricky Hatch summarized the week’s transactions: 30 purchase orders totaling about $736,000 and 156 warrants totaling about $1.9 million.
Hatch said about $470,000 of the purchase-order total (roughly 64%) was for the fleet department to purchase 2025 vehicles for the sheriff’s office and roads; about $171,000 (23%) was for the paramedic fund to buy two replacement vehicles and a chest-compression system. On the warrants side, Hatch said roughly $480,000 (about one-quarter) went to the jail for health care, food and utilities; about $350,000 (18%) was for fleet vehicle purchases; $230,000 (12%) represented a monthly contribution to Weber Human Services; $185,000 (10%) covered roads and highway supplies; $179,000 (9%) was an ARPA distribution to Wolf Creek Water and Sewer Improvement District; and about $108,000 (6%) was for the health department to purchase vaccines.
Hatch also listed the top paid vendors for the week as VitalCore Health Strategies (about $370,000), YF3X (about $338,000), Weber Human Services (about $230,000), Wolf Creek Water and Sewer Improvement District (about $179,000) and Wheeler Machinery Co. (about $116,000).
Commissioners moved and seconded the consent calendar and voted in favor. The chair announced the motion carried.
Items approved on the consent calendar included minutes, surplus equipment requests from parks and the library, a retirement agreement, several event contracts for the Golden Spike Event Center and Egyptian Theatre, and deputy sheriff basic training agreements for five named individuals.
