Council committee selects Lehi Vaughn McNair Associates for city beautification plan after board review

The beautification board presented three proposals seeking the contract: a firm identified in the materials as GMC (Goodwindmills Caywood), Kelly Landscape (Chuck Kelly) and Lehi Vaughn McNair Associates. The beautification board's subcommittee sent a unanimous recommendation that the boardselect GMC, praising that firm's scale and proposed toolkits for staged implementation.
Committee members reviewed all three submissions, discussed past experience with local projects and said they valued both continuity and fresh perspectives. Several members said all three firms were qualified; one member noted prior plaza and park work by Kelly and GMC. After discussion, a committee member moved to accept the proposal from Lehi Vaughn McNair Associates; the motion passed 4-0 and will be sent to the council on Monday night.
Committee members asked staff to prepare the contract and confirmed the selected firm's scope is to develop schematic designs, perform site analysis, gather stakeholder input, prepare conceptual sketches and provide an implementation toolkit that accounts for long-range budgeting and low-maintenance planting strategies.
