The committee discussion described the event as the first weekend in March (March 7–9), with the church planning to erect the tent on Wednesday, March 5, and take it down on Monday, March 10.
Speakers gave slightly different descriptions of the tent’s size during the discussion: an initial description called it “a hundred foot” tent used in prior years, while another reference described it as “120 by 120.” Committee members and the applicant described the tent as unchanged from previous years’ approvals.
The committee did not record further conditions or requirements tied to the variance during the discussion.
The committee handled the item during its new-business agenda and approved the variance by voice vote, 4 to 0.
Looking ahead, the church will proceed with the tent installation and takedown on the dates discussed unless further conditions are communicated to the city.
