Resident urges village to press ISPs for broader fiber deployment; staff says AT&T is expanding service

During public comment Tom Bradford of 44 Chestnut Trail told council that parts of the village lack high‑speed fiber and urged the village to contact ISPs to spur wider deployment. "We need to get [fiber] now so that people can work from home, the businesses can have high speed, etcetera," Bradford said, noting AT&T and other providers have reached nearby neighborhoods.
Public‑works staff Doug responded that AT&T is in the process of running fiber throughout the village, listing streets and areas where work is already visible and saying the provider had set up community events in some locations. Doug said staff would seek an installation schedule from AT&T and share updates with residents and that the village could post information on its communication channels.
No action was taken; staff said it would follow up with AT&T for a schedule and consider outreach to other providers.
