Council briefed on frozen roof drain that flooded Mitchell Building offices

Director Howe told the Lehi Council that a frozen roof drain over the weekend led to water entering the Mitchell Building (referred to in the meeting as the old Board of Health Building) and caused moisture on multiple floors.
"Over the weekend, there was a roof drain that froze and leaked, and it created flooding on the Third, Second, And First Floor of that brand new building," Howe said. He said the flooding was "not substantial" but that there was "6 or 8 feet of moisture on each of the floors," and that the affected areas included Mr. Gao's office, developer offices and Angie Carter's office. Howe said large fans and dehumidifying equipment were deployed and that the developers were sent home and working remotely while staff monitored drying progress.
When asked whether sheetrock or floors were damaged, Howe said carpets were wet and that sheetrock appeared intact at the time; staff planned to test drywall for retained moisture to determine whether replacement was necessary.
