TAB opens meeting with recognition of recent multiuse‑path fatality; investigation ongoing

The Transportation Advisory Board opened its Jan. 22 meeting with a brief recognition of a recent traffic fatality on a City of Boulder multiuse path.

Garrett Slater, acting director for the meeting, and another board member said the board wanted to acknowledge the death of a 73‑year‑old runner, identified in the meeting as Richard Polley, who was involved in a collision with a cyclist on a multiuse path. Slater said the incident is a “reminder” about safety on the city’s transportation network and that an investigation was ongoing.
