Platte County commissioners voted 3-0 on Jan. 8 to schedule a public hearing on the proposed 2025 county budget for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, during the regular commission session.
Julia Wortman of the auditor's office told commissioners the public hearing would give citizens an opportunity to discuss the commission-proposed budget and that the document "will be made available by 10AM on Saturday, 01/11/2025 to meet statutory requirements." She said the proposal would be posted on the auditor's web page and the county website and that hard copies would be available on request.
The hearing was approved by motion and second and passed on a 3-0 roll call. Wortman said the auditor's office and the chief deputy had sent apologies for their absence at the Jan. 8 meeting.
The commission did not debate the budget proposal during the Jan. 8 session; the action before the board was limited to setting the public hearing and confirming the availability timeline for the proposed budget document.
