Winton Woods City School District officials told the board that demolition is complete at the former Beachwoods Primary North site, a stadium fencing variance has been approved and the district will move ahead with a central office parking lot redesign that includes 27 spaces.
Jeremy Dade, executive director of business affairs, said demolition at the Beachwoods Primary North property is finished; remaining near-term work is seeding grass and installing bollards to block unofficial access to the site. Dade said he will check whether the original project scope included rear‑field fencing and will follow up with the board.
On the stadium fencing, Dade said the planning committee and the city of Forest Park approved a variance for fence height and the district has applied for building permits. For the central office parcel, architects and civil engineers revised a three‑year‑old master plan to reflect current traffic patterns and settle on a single entry/exit drive. The proposed lot would add about 27 parking spaces (including two handicap spots) primarily for central‑office staff and visitors; larger evening events would continue to use school parking.
During the presentation the city's review relieved the district of a costly stormwater infrastructure requirement for the new parking area: officials said Forest Park told them sheet drainage off the parking lot was acceptable, a change Dade described as “a huge savings for us.” SHP and Kleingers are completing lighting and final civil plans; Dade said the district hopes to go out to bid for the parking lot in February.
Board members asked about the lane configuration, the location of the entrance relative to Waycross and Ken intersections and the adequacy of spaces for evening meetings; Dade said the design keeps central office access separate from early childhood traffic and that the 27 spaces would supplement the larger campus lot when needed. The board also heard plans to add wooden bollards to close informal vehicle access on the former primary site.
No board vote was required; staff said they would return with more detailed plans and a bidding schedule.
