Jordan Potter was elected chair of the Winona County Board of Adjustment and Kelsey Fitzgerald was elected vice chair during the board’s organizational business at the start of the meeting.
The board also voted to amend a wording error in its rules of procedure to replace a cross-reference to the planning commission with a reference to the Board of Adjustment where applicable, adopting the corrected language after a motion and second. Board members then voted to adopt the rules as amended.
Potter was confirmed as the board’s liaison to the county Planning Commission. Potter said the liaison role includes attending planning commission meetings, reporting variances heard by the Board of Adjustment, and sometimes voting as a commission member when acting in that capacity.
The board approved a calendar change after staff noted the third-Thursday June meeting would fall on a legal holiday. Members moved the June meeting from Thursday, June 19, to Wednesday, June 18, to avoid the conflict and to permit required public notice.
Other routine procedural items on the agenda — approval of the agenda and the previous meeting’s minutes — were adopted. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn.
