Calvin Clifton reported a land survey for a site (related to Fits Bend) is complete and a plat should issue the following day; he said staff are continuing to work with prospects and provide infrastructure information. TCAT reported that virtual programming has reduced disruption from weather and that class sizes remain full, with placement numbers high and truck‑driving classes full.
Nancy Barker of the Hawkins County Chamber of Commerce discussed an upcoming legislative breakfast (tickets $20) and the chamber’s ongoing 3‑star ACT Work Ready Community recertification work; she said a stakeholder meeting with consultant Jody Slider will be scheduled in February. Board staff noted they will provide tickets to any board members who want to attend the legislative breakfast and distributed meeting calendars and a board contact roster for updates.
