Hawkins County Industrial Board elects new officers after nominating committee recommendation

The Hawkins County Industrial Board accepted a nominating committee report and unanimously elected new officers at its meeting, naming Patrick Lund chairman, James Salvin vice chairman and Jeremy Jones secretary‑treasurer.

The nominating committee — formed before the meeting and comprising Mr. Armstrong, Bill Wise and Paul Keyes — recommended the slate after reviewing members’ tenure and skill sets. "We recommend that Patrick Lund be the chairman, James Salvin be the vice chairman, and Jeremy Jones be the secretary treasurer," the committee reported.

Board members were asked if there were any other nominations; hearing none, the board voted. The chair announced the result as unanimous for all 13 members. Board members then confirmed their acceptance: Patrick Lund, James Salvin and Jeremy Jones each said, "I do." The outgoing chairman, Larry Elkins, had retired before the vote; the board thanked him for his service.

The election followed standard procedure of presenting the committee report, soliciting additional nominations, and holding a ballot. The board did not provide a roll‑call vote tally beyond the announcement that the vote was unanimous.

The newly elected officers will assume duties immediately and will be added as authorized signers on accounts during subsequent bank‑account housekeeping actions discussed later in the meeting.
