Todd County approves MnDOT Active Transportation grant application for Second Street parking lot improvements

The board adopted the resolution by motion.
Staff said the $56,168 represents roughly half of the mobilization cost for equipment and some lighting and sidewalk items in the engineer's estimate. The presenter provided two related project figures in the record: $224,000 (reference made by staff as a budget line) and a total estimated project cost of $237,045.90, which staff said is budgeted through the facilities department. The engineering cost estimate referenced in the application came from the county's professional services engineer (transcript spelling: Winseath).
Staff also said they planned to ask the City of Long Prairie to adopt a supporting resolution because the work would cross Second Street, which is a city roadway.
The board approved the motion to submit the grant application and to authorize the auditor/treasurer to serve as fiscal agent; the motion carried on a voice vote.
