Gurnee board approves consent agenda, awards water projects and authorizes outside counsel; proclaims Black History Month, FBLA Week and 2‑1‑1 Day

The Gurnee Village Board on Feb. 3 approved a multi‑item consent agenda, awarded two public‑works contracts for the village water system, approved two resolutions related to outside legal counsel and adopted three proclamations recognizing Black History Month, Future Business Leaders of America Week and 2‑1‑1 Day.

The board approved the consent agenda by roll call. The consent items listed by staff included approval of minutes from the Jan. 27 meeting; Ordinance 2025‑03, authorizing an agreement between the Village of Gurnee and Vogue Printers for newsletter printing and mailing services; Resolution 2025‑02, declaring certain village property surplus (including Police Department unit 112 and miscellaneous public‑works equipment); authorization for the Police Department to dispose of records as allowed by the State of Illinois Local Records Commission; setting bid dates for the Salt Dome roof rehabilitation (bid date 02/20/2025) and the 02/2025 street maintenance program (bid date 03/10/2025); travel approval for two finance staff to attend the Tyler Connect conference (May 2025) at a cost not to exceed $6,000; payroll in the amount of $984,697.99; and bills for the period ending Jan. 27 in the amount of $814,873.25.
