The House Administrative Rules Committee adopted House Bill 2731, a technical amendment intended to reconcile inconsistent deadline language in the Administrative Procedures Act so both cross‑references reflect a February 1 filing deadline.
Representative Kendrick, chairman of the Administrative Rules Committee, explained that the bill corrects a mismatch that remained after Senate Bill 515 changed an earlier filing schedule: "Two years ago in Senate Bill 515, we moved the deadline up on the administrative rules deadline filing date from April 1 to March to February. But there was a reference in there in regards to the executive office that, he is able to address those rules that are filed up and on or before April. So all we did was make that match what the intention of the legislation was the first time." Kendrick added that legal staff had advised the statute would be interpreted to apply the February 1 deadline even without the correction, but the bill makes the language consistent.
The committee voted 13–0 to pass HB 2731.
