The Oklahoma House of Representatives convened Tuesday for routine business, heard a series of committee scheduling announcements and a recognition of the nurse of the day, and adjourned by unanimous consent until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025.
Members were informed of committee meetings and hearings scheduled for the day, including a Utilities Committee meeting at 3 p.m. in Room 206 and a General Government Committee hearing at 10:30 a.m. in Room 206. The Business Committee was scheduled to meet at 10:30 a.m. in Room 4S5, and a career-technical budget hearing was scheduled for 2 p.m. in Room 5S2. The Agriculture Committee announced a meeting listed from 1:32 p.m. to 2:06 p.m. Members also received a reminder about a blood drive scheduled for the following day.
Representative Pogamiller introduced Tykesha McCarty as the nurse of the day; McCarty was described as a registered nurse from Oklahoma City who works with adult and geriatric patients and in primary care. Representative Rowe asked members to keep a colleague’s mother in their prayers during a hospital stay, and Representative Vann recognized homeschoolers in the gallery.
At the close of the session, Representative Florile moved the adjournment, saying, “I move that when the clerk says it's clear, the house say adjourn until Wednesday, 02/05/2025 at 01:30PM.” The motion was adopted without objection and the House was ordered to adjourn until 1:30 p.m. the following day.
The session otherwise followed routine opening procedures: the clerk called the roll, Chaplain Ronnie Wilson gave an invocation, and the pledge of allegiance was led.
