The Jackson County Board of Supervisors made the following formal actions Tuesday. All items below passed by unanimous voice vote (recorded as "aye"), with motions moved and seconded during the meeting.
Minutes and financials - Approved board proceedings minutes (Jan. 28, 2025), work session minutes (Jan. 28, 2025) and special meeting minutes (Jan. 30, 2025 special election cannabis meeting). Motion by Ninh; second by Mike. Outcome: approved. - Accepted and filed the county recorder’s report of fees collected for January 2025 in the amount of $66,717.90 and authorized chair and auditor signatures. Motion by Mike; second by Ninh. Outcome: approved.
Licenses and contracts - Approved renewal of a Class C retail alcohol license with outdoor service for Bellevue Golf Club Inc., effective April 1, 2025 through March 31, 2026. Motion by Ninh; second by Mike. Outcome: approved. - Approved renewal of HIPAA services contract with Karoche for February–February at $14,459. Motion by Mike; second by Ninh. Outcome: approved.
Personnel actions (sheriff’s department) - Approved status change for Molly Herring from full time to part time corrections officer, effective Jan. 26, 2025. Motion by Mike; second by Ninh. Outcome: approved. - Approved promotion of Betsy Swisher from part time to full time (sheriff’s department), effective Jan. 26, 2025. Motion by Ninh; second by Mike. Outcome: approved. - Approved appointment of Tracy Frederickson as shift lead (corrections), effective Jan. 26, 2025, including a $0.75 hourly premium for hours worked in that role and authorization for the county auditor to issue payroll. Motion by Mike; second by Ninh. Outcome: approved. - Approved hiring Russell Long as a part-time bailiff effective Feb. 4 (transcript lists year as 2026), at an hourly rate of $25.35, and authorized payroll. Motion by Ninh; second by Mike. Outcome: approved.
Boards and appointments - Approved reappointment of Dr. Bybee to the Board of Health for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2027 (name as spoken in meeting recorded inconsistently as "Gerald Bybee" and "Joe Bybee" in the transcript).
