The Lincoln County Board of Equalization approved certificates of correction for 11 parcels after the county assessor identified multiple cell-tower properties that had been locally assessed in error, county staff said on Feb. 3.
County staff explained the issue arose from centrally assessed figures provided by the Nebraska Department of Revenue, which arrive as aggregated real and personal property totals. "When we get those figures, they're all lumped together," the assessor said, and a review by staff found several parcels that should be corrected.
Staff said most corrections apply to 2024 assessments; one parcel requires corrections for both 2023 and 2024. The board moved and seconded approval of the certificates of correction and approved the motion by roll call.
The board's action directs the assessor's office to process the corrections in county records and to adjust tax rolls accordingly, consistent with the centrally assessed data supplied by the Department of Revenue.
