McLean County Health Department reintroduces Public Health Award and is accepting nominations

Jessica McKnight, Administrator of the McLean County Health Department, told the Health Committee that the department plans to reinstate its Public Health Award this year. "So the Health Department and Board of Health have historically awarded this, starting in 1993 and have not done that since 2017. But we're bringing it back this year," McKnight said.
The award recognizes a community member who "exhibits public health and contributes to furthering public health in our community," McKnight said. The department is currently accepting nominations; nomination details and submission instructions are posted on the McLean County Health Department website, she said.
McKnight said there were no action items for the committee tied to the award at this meeting. The announcement served to inform committee members and to solicit nominations from the public and local organizations.
