Parks camera system nears completion; public works reports salt resupply and sewer line mapping

Park Superintendent Phil Cornelius told the Mooresville Town Council on Feb. 4 that installation of a Corson security and camera system is nearing completion for park properties and that staff will finalize locations and power supplies before completing work in March.
Cornelius said most cameras are installed and that park systems will be trained with police staff and then with other departments. "We've already brought on the wastewater treatment plants. The street department is getting up if it's non rope already. And then the park system is getting finalized in locations," Cornelius said.
Public works reported on other operational items. Staff said they were replenishing road salt and have about 350 tons remaining on contract deliverables; the salt barn was about three-quarters full. Banning Engineering has begun a second phase of mapping sewer lines, and staff plan additional work such as smoke testing and possible sewer-liner bids as part of required agreed-order work.
A town equipment-maintenance update said crews used downtime during cold weather to service vehicles and that crews would begin installing building heat in the municipal office area in March, with some expected disruptions to office staff during that work.
Ending: Council acknowledged the updates and asked staff to return with bids or formal recommendations when the sewer-line and liner work is ready to be advertised.
