Committee recommends budget increase for Northeast Pump Station rehabilitation

Jennifer Salinski, finance director, told the Finance, Budget and Personnel Committee that the city’s wastewater facilities plan (completed in 2023) identified the Northeast Pump Station rehabilitation as a multi-year project and that construction bids were accepted by the Board of Public Works.
Salinski said the overall multi-year project budget (2023–2025) was adopted previously but the city’s accounting needs a 2025 budget increase to match the timing of planned spending. She recommended approval of a budget resolution to increase the wastewater utility fund budget by $432,000 for the Northeast Pumping Station Rehabilitation Project and stated that the funding source is wastewater fees.
A motion to approve the budget resolution was made and seconded; the committee voted in favor with no nays recorded and the chair declared the motion passed.
Salinski noted the project was identified in the 2023 facilities plan and that the requested action does not add new authorization for work beyond previously approved project scope; it aligns 2025 budget lines with expected payments for planning, construction and construction management contracted services.
Committee members did not request additional changes to the resolution at the meeting.
