Board approves consent agenda including security contract amendment, easements and letters supporting broadband and reappointments

The Cowlitz County Board of Commissioners approved its consent agenda, which included multiple contract and correspondence items and reappointments.

County staff described a contract amendment with Security Solutions Northwest for Hall of Justice security work. According to the staff summary, the scope grew as additional state grant funds became available; the most recent amendment covers added exterior cameras and door modifications and was described as an additional $81.23 to complete added outside-camera work. Staff also noted a completion letter to Peak Environmental for relocation of a monitoring well at the Tenant Way Landfill tied to a sale of property to the Port of Longview.

Other consent items included an on-call electrical-services agreement with Core Solutions; a biennial certification designating the Cowlitz County Economic Development Council as the county’s associate development organization for the state Department of Commerce; a series of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission letters on Lewis River hydrologic modeling and fish-passage plans; a correspondence letter supporting Comcast Xfinity’s effort to extend internet service to unserved and underserved households in Cowlitz County; letters reappointing Betty Ingleman and John Gross to the Noxious Weed Control Board through February 2029; multiple easements for the Garlic Road/Colbert replacement project; and a resolution extending the agreement with the Cowlitz County Humane Society and authorizing the sheriff to sign the extension while negotiations continue with Clark County.

Staff reported vouchers in the amount of $11,147,000.56 and $0.52.
