Monroe County health department reports slight rise in COVID-like visits, high flu activity and offers vaccines

She said influenza activity remains high statewide and reported three flu-associated deaths in Indiana last week.
The health department reminded residents that vaccines are available for all ages through the county public health clinic and supplied an appointment number: (812) 353-3244. The department also noted it is monitoring federal and state legislation relevant to public health operations.
Commissioners thanked health staff for their work and had no additional questions on the update. No formal action was required or taken on the item; it was presented as a routine departmental update.
