The Brown Deer Village Board on Feb. 4 approved a resolution to publish notice for a public hearing, set for March 17, on a proposed discontinuance of a portion of North Green Bay Road right-of-way as part of a land swap with developer Namdar.
Staff said the discontinuance involves a narrow stretch of right-of-way adjacent to the marketplace parcel and that the village intends to acquire a skinny stretch where Beavercreek is located and then convey that right-of-way to Namdar as part of the property transaction. The board must publish notice at least 40 days before the hearing; adoption of the resolution authorizes the notice and the hearing process.
The resolution passed by roll call at the Feb. 4 meeting; the board then set the public hearing date for the March 17 board meeting.
Why it matters: The discontinuance and subsequent conveyance are a procedural step in a larger redevelopment transaction and will be the subject of a public hearing where residents can comment.
