Resident tells council she is being harassed as property owner resists proposed apartment access

Burleson — During the citizen appearance portion of the meeting, Wanda Bray of 340 Bowden Circle asked the council for help, saying she and her disabled grandson are being harassed amid a dispute over a neighboring property owner’s plan to use their land for access to an apartment project.

Bray, who said she is an 83‑year‑old cancer patient and that her grandson is a 33‑year‑old permanently disabled person, told the council people have thrown liquids on her car, damaged plants and security systems, and repeatedly opened her garage. She said she has reported incidents to police but is dissatisfied with the level of follow‑up.

"We are being harassed and harangued continually at our home," Bray said. She told the council she had spoken with a city victim’s advocate named Stephanie and that she was seeking more help from city officials.

Bray asked the council to investigate and said she believes the developer wants the property for egress so he can build apartments behind their home; she said she and her grandson had refused to sell. Council members and meeting attendees expressed sympathy; a pastor in the audience vouched for the couple.

Council did not take formal action during the meeting on the complaint; staff noted public comment will be recorded and follow‑up could be coordinated through city staff where appropriate.
