Fort Worth City Council votes to dissolve Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 10

City staff held a public hearing and the City Council approved an ordinance to dissolve Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone Number 10 (TRS 10), the zone established in the mid‑2000s to support public improvements tied to the Cabela’s retail development near I‑35W and State Highway 170.
Kelly Baggett (City staff) told council that TRS 10 was created under a master economic development agreement with the city, Tarrant County, the Lone Star Local Government Corporation and Cabela’s to support construction of public improvements related to the development. Baggett said the zone was scheduled to expire at the end of 2025 and that the bonds associated with the zone have been issued and satisfied; as a result, staff recommended early termination.
Following the public hearing, a motion to close the hearing and approve the M&C and ordinance to terminate the zone was made, seconded and the motion carried.
Staff said the zone has no outstanding or pending obligations and that termination will proceed in accordance with state law governing tax increment financing. No further implementation steps or fiscal impacts beyond the statement that bonds have been satisfied were presented during the hearing.
