The Board of Supervisors on Feb. 4 approved an amendment to the county counsel contract to increase the contracted hourly rate to the posted step 5 rate of $158.78 effective Feb. 15, 2025.
Human resources director Christine Bresenio told the board the management compensation review found the county counsel pay needed adjustment to remain competitive with the regional market; state law requires public hearing for compensation changes to a contracted position. The HR director recommended the step 5 rate, and the board voted to authorize amendment number 1 to the agreement.
Action taken: Motion to approve the amendment was made by Supervisor Gallagher, seconded by Supervisor Ramos, and passed unanimously.
Ending: Staff will process the contract amendment and the clerk will publish the change per administrative procedures.
