Hosts of a City of Hialeah radio segment announced a food-and-wine festival will be held Feb. 8 at Hialeah Park, starting at 6 p.m., with tickets priced at $50 and restricted to adults.
Gina Romero, an events presenter on the program, said the city will host the event and that about 50 restaurants will participate. Romero directed listeners to the City of Hialeah social media accounts for ticket and event details.
Nelson Lorán, representing El Valle restaurant, said his establishment will be among the participating restaurants. “Sí, mira, somos el restaurante El Valle, estamos fundados desde dos mil cinco, llevamos más de diecinueve años de edad en la ciudad de Jadalía, y vamos a estar ese día en ese evento, vamos a ser parte del evento de los cincuenta restaurantes que vamos a estar representando acá, la ciudad de Jadalía. Vamos a tener vino blanco, vino tinto, vamos a tener unos tostones rellenos inigualables, un churrasco espectacular, y vamos a estar ahí formando parte del evento. Invitamos a todas las personas que pasen por acá por la casa a que nos visiten, porque es un lugar que quedó espectacular,” Lorán said.
Romero reiterated logistical details on the broadcast: the festival begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, at Hialeah Park; tickets cost $50; and the event is for adults only. She also said the program will feature additional sponsor information on the following Tuesday’s broadcast.
No formal motions, votes, contracts or funding sources were discussed during the segment. The remarks were part of a short community-events portion of the program and consisted of presenter announcements and a representative from a participating restaurant describing planned offerings.
