Representative Mark Sodder, who identified himself as a House member from District 1 in Sandpoint, told the committee the trio of bills — House Bills 50, 52 and 56 — are designed to speed project delivery and reduce administrative time. "They're not fee increases. They don't allow any extra spending," Sodder said. "They should speed up the administrative process for projects, and also, cut down some staff time."
The bills would change dollar limits used in state construction and procurement processes. House Bill 50 would raise the delegation limit for public works projects from $300,000 to $500,000, allowing qualified entities to manage projects of that size without closer, day‑to‑day oversight by the Division of Public Works.…
