Kathleen Hayes, Community Health Specialist for recovery supports with McLean County Recovery Oriented System of Care, used the public-appearance slot to ask the advisory council to help promote a community survey measuring local public opinion on substance use and mental-health recovery.
“My ask today is that within your own personal and professional realms of influence, please share our survey,” Kathleen Hayes said. She said flyers and business cards were available to distribute and that the survey is offered in both English and Spanish through a Jotform landing page. Hayes said the survey deadline is the end of the day on an unspecified date and that current tallies were about 190 English responses and 11 Spanish responses; respondents are eligible to enter to win a $25 Walmart gift card.
Council members asked whether a QR code on the flyer links directly to the bilingual survey; Hayes confirmed it does and recommended keeping a card on hand when networking so residents can access the survey easily. She said the county’s recovery system will share survey results in the coming months to inform an updated community needs assessment and a new strategic plan for the next three to five years.
Why it matters: The survey is intended to shape the county’s updated community needs assessment and strategic plan for behavioral health and recovery services by collecting public input in English and Spanish.
Next steps: Hayes will continue outreach; council members were asked to share the survey through their networks. Hayes offered to provide flyers and business cards for distribution.
