The School Committee unanimously approved a request from Plymouth North High School for its varsity baseball team to travel to Cooperstown, New York, during April vacation to play at Doubleday Field and tour the Baseball Hall of Fame. Athletic Director Justin Domingos and varsity coach Duane Follett told the committee the trip would depart Friday morning, play a game Friday evening, include an overnight stay in Cooperstown and return the following afternoon.
Domingos said the trip would be funded through existing booster-account funds and a spring fundraiser; after fundraising the per-student cost was presented to the committee as $0. Committee members asked if there were questions; a motion to approve the trip was made and seconded, and the committee voted unanimously to grant approval.
The approval allows Plymouth North’s coaching staff to finalize logistics, travel plans and parent communications for the April-vacation trip.
