North Ridgeville council adopts multiple measures: grants, fund transfers, equipment purchases and levy submissions set for ballot

North Ridgeville City Council on Feb. 3 approved a package of financial and procurement measures including grant acceptance, fund transfers and advances, contracts for environmental remediation, and resolutions to submit multiple tax levies to the county for placement on the ballot.

The most immediate measures adopted with emergency clauses included acceptance of a $250,000 abandoned gas station cleanup grant from the Ohio Department of Development (2025-2) and the addition of emergency language to multiple ordinances and resolutions so the city could meet county and grant deadlines. Council approved fund transfers and advances (2025-7 and 2025-8) and a routine payment authorization (2025-9).

The council also approved a JobsOhio road-work grant acceptance tied to the Taylor Parkway resurfacing project (2025-10) and authorized an existing contractor, BGM Environmental Inc., to continue environmental professional services for the abandoned gas station program under a contract "not to exceed $250,000" (2025-23).

Levy measures and ballot submissions: Council amended and adopted a resolution to renew an existing 1.9-mill fire levy (2025-26 amended) and filed companion resolutions that will move to a special meeting process with the county auditor.
